Wall Mounted Wire Shelving Ideas
Installing wall mounted wire shelving is a cheap and easy way to create a computer desk and storage. Wire shelves are available in most building warehouses, and can be either coated or uncoated. Coated wire shelves have a plastic or vinyl layer wrapped around it as a buffer while uncoated wire shelves are just the bare metal. One of the other benefits of wall-mounted wire shelves is the versatility; the data area can be expanded or retracted to suit the changing design of the room. Hanging this type of shelves in standard plaster or plaster is a task that can be completed in less than an hour.

Measure the length of the wire shelves. There may be several pieces; the desired arrangement of shelves must fit in the specified area. Select the wall where you want to hang the shelf. There should be three brands; one for one end of the shelf, one for the middle and one for the opposite end. Keep in mind that if you make a computer table from the shelves, it must be high enough so that your knees will fit comfortably while sitting. Even out the brands you created using the level. This will ensure the shelves are straight when attached to the wall.
Select the location of the first wall clip. If the end of the shelf will be against a wall, the first clip should be at least 2 1/2 inches from the end. If not, the clip should be placed 1 inch from the end. Repeat this step at the opposite end. Make marks equal to each other from the first mark to the other. Keep in mind that the clamps should not exceed 12 inches apart. Measure 5/8 inches from each mark and mark with a point. This will be the location of the screw holding the clamp in place.

Wall clips made for wall mounted wire shelving have slits along the top, allowing for easy installation. Determine the location of brackets. Brackets should not be installed more than 3 meters apart, or less than 2 meters from the end of a shelf that does not touch the wall. Attach the carpenter plate with a support bracket to the underside of the wire shelves. The plate should be seated close to the bottom of the shelves, horizontally, with the carpenter plate attached to the lip.
