How To Design Coral Quilts Cover

Give your bedroom a new look or give an old coral quilts a new life by making your own simple quilt cover. Duvet covers work as covers for the inserts below, quilts or duvets. Already done, department store duvet covers can cost as much or more than a new duvet. Making your own is less complicated than you think, and costs a lot less. You may decide to make one for each season. Completing a quilt can seem like a daunting task for a beginner in discipline, but if you start with a simple model you can do it without problem. There are 3 types of patterns that are especially simple for beginners to learn the basics of the technique: baby bedspreads, T-shirts, and Amish quilts.

There are four main components in a quilt. The coral quilts cover is the side of the quilt that is placed face up and is the focus of most patterns. The bottom layer is often a single type of fabric. Between the front and back is a layer of cotton wadding or other fibrous material that acts as insulation. The edges are the final component that connects the two sides and seals the wadding between the top and bottom layers. Many websites offer free patterns for beginners and craft stores often have free patterns available. One of the attractions of making a baby bedspread as a first project is its size since it is usually smaller than one for adults.

You can make simple patchwork coral quilts or use the squares of the quilt technique to create an animal or a sympathetic image for a nursery. Amish bedspread patterns are popular because of their simplicity. These are often patch worked blocks that use primary colors. Choose a variety of colors that include black and short strips of fabric 3 inches (7.5 cm) wide. You can make the lengths of the strips vary or are uniform in size, as long as they form a rectangle so that the sides of the quilt are even. Sew all the squares together. Remove the foot of the zipper from your sewing machine.

Reinstall the presser foot. Place the top coral quilts cover up on the sewing machine. Straight stitch the bottom and both sides along with a seam allowance of 1/2 inches. Leave the top you have the pressure tape without sewing. Remove the straight stud bolts and turn the duvet cover right side out. Use different colors or patterns of the top and bottom sheets to make the duvet cover reversible. For a washable duvet cover, wash and dry the sheets before cutting them. If it does not, the duvet cover may shrink when washed.
